The Alternative Investments Group at the Goizueta Business School
Atlanta, GA – (Business Wire) -Triton Value Partners, an Atlanta based business advisory/private equity firm, announced today that it will sponsor Goizueta Business School’s first-annual venture capital case competition. The competition will be hosted at Emory University by the Alternative Investments Group, a student run undergraduate BBA club, on March 21-22, 2008. The competition will officially be known as the Triton Venture Capital Case Competition.
The competition represents the first of its kind for undergraduate business school students in the Southeast. In the competition, student groups will evaluate business plans submitted by professional entrepreneurs through the lens of a venture capitalist. They will conduct due diligence sessions with the entrepreneurs, analyze the business’ various financial models, and present an investment decisions to a panel of judges made up of venture capitalists from the Atlanta area.
This unique opportunity will bring Emory undergraduate BBA students, faculty, venture capitalists, and entrepreneurs together in an academic setting. It represents the growing interest of students in alternative investments and the demand to acquire more in-depth knowledge of venture capital.

Rashid Lattouf and Darin Upton, both BBA students expected to graduate in the Spring of 2009, are the co-directors of the competition. Every aspect of the competition, from conception to execution, is a result of Goizueta undergraduates’ effort.
